IgY Inc is conducting research
and testing to show that IgY can be used to bind gluten
preventing it from being absorbed into the body - thereby
lessening the often painful effects of gluten-intolerance
to the gastrointestinal system.
Glutens are consumed in food
where they become harmful to the gluten-intolerant patient.
IgY binds to the gluten and allows it to be passed through the small intestine, as per normal digestion.
IgY specific to glutens may also be beneficial
for gluten-sensitive people who are essentially asymptomatic
or have no gastrointestinal problems.
